You’ll find the entrance in the back alley just off the corner of 17th Avenue and 6th Street SW. Look for the steel door and head inside. You’ll see a kitchen on your left, don’t go in there. Just head downstairs and through the wooden clad door straight ahead. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are available based on availability.
Who is Prickett Richard? Prickett, Richard – aka Richard Prickett – was the first tenant of this building in 1920, in Apartment No.1, long before it was a barbecue restaurant, a hardware store, carpet cleaners or a chicken shop. When creating the space, we tried to imagine what he would have been like, and tried to make the bar feel like he could have maybe lived here. So we hope you feel as comfortable here as he might have, sitting back on one of our couches, with a drink in hand, listening to a playlist of mostly rap music (probably not what he was into at the time).
